Sunday Shelving | July 24-August 6, 2016

Hey, ducklings! Welcome to my newest feature, Sunday Shelving! In Sunday Shelving, I’ll be giving you my weekly recap and haul, as well as giving some love to my favorite posts of the week and to my favorite pictures from my bookstagram! Enjoy 🙂

The Week In Books

Read And Reviewed

Yes, I am aware that this looks like I read a decent to high amount of books in the past week. Problem is, this collection represents the books I’ve read in the past two weeks. I only finished one book, Ruined by Any Tintera, in the past week. I read Blood Passage by Heather Demetrios and finished Young Avengers Vol. 1: Style > Substance by Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie, and Mike Norton the week before last. *Sigh* Looks like this slump just isn’t going away.

Currently Reading

Okay so technically I have yet to actually read Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge (I haven’t read any books for the past 5 days as I fell into a hole of  internet surfing. oops.), but this is 100% what I plan on picking up next!

The Haul

I may not have a big library haul, but I think I have a good one, one full of books I’m genuinely excited to get to! I nabbed The Problem With Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Walk The Edge by Katie McGarry, and Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge.

Golly, I bought a lot of audiobooks this past week! But I swear, I didn’t spend any more money than the monthly fee! I used my credit to preorder Replica by Lauren Oliver, my boyfriend’s credit (he’s on his second month of the free trial he got for Prime Day) to buy The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee, ad I returned an audiobook that I had disliked an used the credit I got back from it to get Riders by Veronica Rossi. So I got everything for a steal, I’d say!

I’m also very happy with the books I got for review! I received It Looks Like This by Rafi Mittlefeldt and The Delphi Effect by Rysa Walker!

Personal & Blogging News

First things first, I want to say to all of you that I am so, so, so sorry for not responding to comments for the past month. My life has been very hectic and overwhelming of late, causing my chronic fatigue to intensify and I just haven’t had the energy to reply. I want you to know that I do read every single comment and I appreciate and treasure each and every one of them and you. I will be getting back to answering the comments as soon as possible, but in the meantime, I hope you don’t stop commenting as I read and enjoy all of your comments and find them so heartwarming.

In terms of personal, I’m getting down to the wire and it’s getting rough, ducklings. What am I talking about? I mean that later this month, I’m beginning college classes. I’m still technically on medical leave from my university, but I signed up to take 2 courses at my local community college. This is really difficult and scary for me because I have academic performance anxiety. It’s compounded by the fact that beginning mid September I will be living completely on my own for the first time ever. So I’m scared out of my mind and it’s starting to hit me hard. I’m constantly plagued by thoughts of “I don’t know what to do!” and “There is no doubt that I’m going to fail!” So it’s been rough.

But enough about me! One to more fun stuff. The blog has been pretty regular and solid this past week so there’s not much to report. I do have an interesting week for you coming up if all goes as planned, though when does that ever happen? But that’s all there is!

How has your life been going? Anything fun or exciting or new going on? Are those of you who are still in school looking forward to going back? Tell me all in the comments! I can’t wait to hear from you!

  2. Ooooohhh!! Ruined looks cool. Yes, the sword totally got me. Lol.

Thank you so much for including my post in your weekly recap!! *squeals with joy* I’m so honored!! 😀

And you’ll do great this semester, just take it one step at a time. My personal motto for when I feel anxious/overwhelmed is “Breathe…Just Breathe” It comes out sounding more like the lyrics from the song when I say it in my head…so it’s less therapeutic typing it out, lol >.<
