Girl in the Blue Coat by Monica Hesse. I actually can’t wait for it. It’s pitched as a historical thriller thats like The Book Thief meets Girl on the Train. It sounds really good!

Name your least favorite plot device employed by way too many books that you actually enjoyed, otherwise.
Miscommunication. I hate it when the main problem could’ve been solved with a single conversation. I can’t name any books off of the top of my head but miscommunication as a plot device seems to occur most frequently in contemporaries.
Miscommunication is the worst! I hate hate IT, it’s so illogical.
absolutely pointless, imo lol
Miscommunication is the WORST. I hate it in books and TV shows. So much conflict could be avoided if the characters just spoke to each other. It makes it all seem so pointless.
