Hello, lovely bibliophiles! Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s theme is “”beach reads.” Now, I must admit, I was kinda at a loss for this one, given that beach reads are usually summery, cutesy, contemporary books, and I’m more of a fantasy and sci fi kinda girl. BUT! I managed to pull together a fun little list of contemporary summer 2016 new releases that I think I’d love to take to the beach! So here we go…
I’ve never read a Morgan Matson book (que gasps of horror), but this one just might break my resolve. It just looks so cute PLUS, as many others before me have noted, there are cute, fluffy dogs on the cover. How can you say no to that?
This book sounds both funny and cute. The premise kind of slightly reminds me of Morgan Matson’s Since You’ve Been Gone, in that it kinda seems like it’s about a girl exploring her spontaneous side! Which sounds like so much fun!
I’ve always been interested in things like astrology and tarot so the premise of this really hooked me. The book seems zany, funny, and sweet! And bonus: it actually has the word “summer” in the title!
Ah, another one with summer in the title! Despite that, this one seems a little more serious. It seems a bit more like a coming of age story, with elements of cute on the side. Still, it’s been getting great reviews!
This book seems to be a product of the summer 2016 geek is chic movement in literature and I can’t say I’m upset! This book looks super adorkable and I’m definitely looking forward to it!
Another popular author who I’ve never read! But I hear her stuff is to die for cute! This book looks no different!
A girl with totally bad luck? This book looks hysterical! I’m hoping it takes the whole “charmingly clutzy Mary Sue” trope and turns it on its head! But even if it doesn’t, it still looks pretty good.
This one also looks a bit more serious, but still good. It sounds more like a story about growing up, rather than falling in love, but those are great stories too.
A cute teen love story involving a trip round Europe? Um, sign me up, like, now, please!
Geek love? I’m in! This looks like another product of the geek chic movement and I’m all for it! This book looks both adorkable and hysterical and I can’t wait to read it!
